Chippa United coach Clinton Larsen wary of Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila in Nedbank Cup

The two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup last 16 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

United reached this stage of the competition by beating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the last 32, while the National First Division side beat Polokwane City by the same scoreline.

"Everyone in the Nedbank is a giant-killer huh," Larsen tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"So ja, it's a difficult game for us because everybody in football thinks it's a formality that Premier League teams should win. But if you know the game and if you know what cup competitions are about, there's always upsets.

"So we're very wary of that, we saw how they knocked Polokwane out. They are a dangerous team, they've got a lot of quick players you know, the experienced [Edward] Manqele in the front, they've got experience in Carlington Nyadombo in the back.

"So there is some experience in the team guiding the youngsters. We're going to give them all the respect but at the same time we're going to try and impose ourselves at home like we usually do."

Vhadau Vha Damani are expected to welcome their new coach this week, and he will be sitting in the stands on Saturday observing.

"Players always want to impress their new coach that they deserve to start the next game, especially when a new coach has just arrived," Larsen adds.

"It's up to us as a home team to impose ourselves and show our qualities you know, we're just trying to be consistent in terms of our performances and our results. It's a big opportunity for us to be in the quarter-final."

TTM assistant coach Phuthi Mohafe says unlike in the last 32 against Polokwane City, on Saturday he will come with a different approach against the Chilli Boys.

"Everything is going well my brother, no one is injured," Mohafe says.

"We will only change the approach, we won't approach it the same way we played against Polokwane, because we went to Polokwane with a cautious approach, playing one striker, and playing with two full-backs on the left.

"But Chippa have got hard-running ball players and very skilful, very good players who can dribble. So we are not going to sit back. We will block the wings and give them the middle, and in the middle we know that is where we are stronger.

"We will go there with two strikers, two outright wingers, and one defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder. With the full-backs we are going to overlap, which means we are going for an attacking approach."
