Wits' Sifiso Myeni humbled by Bidvest Stadium reception following Orlando Pirates switch

Myeni receiving a standing ovation when he replaced Elias Pelembe 72 minutes into a 3-0 win over Cape Town City in the first leg of an MTN8 semi-final.

The 28-year-old returned to Wits on transfer-deadline day following a four-year spell with Orlando Pirates.

"I felt good," Myeni tells snl24.com/kickoff when asked about his 'second debut' for the Clever Boys.

"I would like to thank the supporters for showing their appreciation. I appreciate it so much and it motivates me to work extra hard.

"It was great to play my first game at home and yes it was great to receive such a reception from the supporters."

The Soweto-born winger says he is still working towards full fitness.

"The coach gave me the last 20 minutes to get my fitness level up. It was a little bit difficult after Moeneeb got the red card and that means I had to work harder.

"Overall I think I gave it my best shot. It was good that we won and also important that we didn't allow them to score."
