City will meet SuperSport United in the MTN8 final after defeating Bidvest Wits 2-1 in the second leg of their semi-final at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Fielies, who was named Man of the Match, claims the Mother City outfit were prepared to defend against the Clever Boys throughout the match.
"We had a plan, we knew we had a goal that we can defend. We knew it was going to be tough but the plan worked," he told SuperSport TV.
"We were putting our bodies in the line, we knew they were going to come at us.
"We didn't want to concede but we knew we were going to come back. Our coach believed in us and we believed we were going to reach the final."
