Pitso Mosimane suggests sangoma to help Mamelodi Sundowns win MTN8 trophy

No one will blame coach Pitso Mosimane for suggesting he might need supernatural intervention to win the MTN8 with Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mosimane's ambition of winning the MTN8 trophy with Sundowns was blown into thin air again when his team were beaten 3-1 on aggregate by SuperSport United in the semifinals.

'Jingles' has won nearly every cup with Sundowns including the CAF Champions League but the the top eight gold medal keeps eluding him at Chloorkop.

"I don't know, I wish I knew," said Mosimane when asked about his feelings about not winning MTN8 trophy with his current club.

"Maybe I need a good sangoma. What can I say?"

However, Mosimane refused to be drawn into records since he lifted the cup with SuperSport before leaving to join Bafana Bafana after the 2010 World Cup.

"I don't want to put my ego in this cup because it's not about me, it's about the club. If it has to be me, I have won this cup before," he reminded.

"Sundowns, yes, they have not won it. But it's not about that. It's about the team. It's not about me. I think there are [other] things to win also.

"So even if we go through the semifinals of the Champions League like last year and we don't score a goal, it's part of the learning curve. Why should I complain and not give credit to other teams?

"Ask [Jurgen] Klopp [the Liverpool coach] how does he feel about yesterday after they lost against Napoli [in the UEFA Champions League]. Barcelona has not had a win for some time. Ok they won against Valencia but it has been difficult. Real Madrid, it has been difficult for them.

"So who I am to say why this is happening to me when it happens to big coaches and happens to big clubs. It's part of football. It's not the end of the world."
