Ntshangase squandered a great chance to hand his side their first Absa Premiership victory of the season, but instead turned in circles with the goal at his mercy on Tuesday evening.
The match against Celtic ended 2-2 after Amakhosi had initially lead by two goals, and questions were asked of the former Baroka attacker’s thinking in the situation.
‘Stash’, as he is commonly known, has since defended his hesitancy and admitted he will need to work on his decision-making and shooting in training.
“I think there are a lot of things that happened in that situation so, if you are sitting at home or watching the game on television, you will be like ‘why doesn’t he shoot?’ But there was a lot that happened in that instance,” Ntshangase said.
“But I’m hoping that come in the training sessions, I will fix that. If you look properly at that game, you would see that we were dominating from the start of the game up until the 78th minute, which was when they got easy goals so obviously everyone is disappointed.”
Looking ahead to their next encounter tonight against Matsatsantsa in the MTN8 semi-finals, Ntshangase is adamant they will not bank on their two away goals from the first leg draw seeing them through, but rather look to play their normal attacking game.
“No, we are not going out to defend, we will play our normal game,” he insisted.
“The more you attack, chances are you’ll get to score goals so we just need to go out and put SuperSport under pressure.”
