The Clever Boys were 3-0 victors over Mamelodi Sundowns the final of the top eight competition and Hunt praised his team for achieving such a tremendous feat against quality opponents.
He indicated that the team were heading in the right direction and would do what was required to move them forward.
"The whole team was magnificent. It's a great occasion for the club. I've won trophies before and some of these guys haven't won but it's a start," Hunt told SuperSport following the final whistle.
"I've been here three, four years now and we've built a little team here so we have to keep feeding it, keep feeding it, keep nursing it and keep working on it and keep trying to get the right players that play my way or our way or Frank Sinatra's way. It's important for us to keep working like that."
Hunt also admitted that the game should have been dead and buried after a first half in which his charges were entirely dominant.
"I thought we were very good. I thought in the first half we had two or three great chances to make it three or four nil and then it would have been over," he said.
"I just set up the team and try and play the best way we can play against opposition who are a very good side and certainly I wish them well [for the CAF Champions League final]. I set up the team each week for how I feel we need to play in a certain game or whatever we need to do."
