Gavin Hunt bemoans Bidvest Wits missed chances

Wits totally dominated possession and chances in the 0-0 draw against Cape Town City on Saturday night that saw them progress to the MTN8 final 3-0 on aggregate.

But it could easily have been 8-0 with the number of chances his side missed, and he was visibly not happy on the touchline.

However, not converting enough chances is not a new problem, and Hunt said he would be more concerned if his side was not creating opportunities.

“If weren’t creating then I think you’d have a problem but I think we created a lot of chances,” he said on SuperSport.

“It’s the same story all over the world [when a team is missing chances], you go to your chairman and you say can we buy Ronaldo or something, you know?

“But the guys really did well and worked hard over the two legs but we’ve certainly got to be better in front of goal, that’s for sure…

“It was endless chances and it's really upsetting not to score, we created so many opportunities," Hunt said on SuperSport.

“The pitch is really long, I don't think they have a lawnmower in Cape Town. We got through and that's the most important thing…

“We could have played until to next week and we still would not have scored, we’ve got to be more ruthless especially in front of goal, our final ball has let us down and it's something we need to continuously work on.”
