The legendary defender believes Bloemfontein Celtic will overcome defending champions SuperSport United in the last four.
"I think Celtic have nothing to lose against SuperSport United, they will go there without any pressure and the way they played against Sundowns shows you how dangerous they can be," McCarthy says.
"They need this cup more than any team. They've been having challenges and winning the cup will definitely do something to them."
McCarthy, who played for both Chiefs and Celtic, predicts that Siwelele and Amakhosi will meet in the final.
"I go for Chiefs and Celtic in the final, those are my former teams that played a huge role in my growth and life. I want to see them in that final."
