Zuma has finally come out of his shell in his second season at Naturena since his arrival from Bloemfontein Celtic last year.
The 23-year-old blew hot and cold under coach Steve Komphela last season, managing three goals in 17 league appearances, which included just two starts.
Though he has yet to feature in a league game this season, the speedy winger has managed a goal and an assist in his two MTN8 appearances thus far, and is hoping to kick on in order to help the team end their trophy drought.
"Ja, obviously I'm happy [with the goal and assist] because you know you must assist or score, so I'm quite happy with my performance so far," Zuma tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"It's long overdue. It's important that I perform now in my second season so that I can help the team to win something."
The arrival of Billiat looks to aided the former junior international, who was able to link up with the Zimbabwean to hand Chiefs the early lead in their pulsating 2-2 draw with SuperSport United this past weekend.
Zuma has since lauded the value of his strike partners Billiat and Castro, and believes with more game-time their combinations up front will only become more deadly.
"There's some understanding between us, and I think if the combination keeps getting stronger it will kill so many teams this season," he adds.
"They've got experience, they are always telling us what to do and it's quite nice to play with them. They've taught us a lot already and we can still learn a lot as well."
