Leeuwenburgh made two brilliant saves in the penalty shoot-out to condemn Mamelodi Sundowns to a 4-2 defeat at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“It can only mean one thing, we’re gonna win this cup," the Dutch goalkeeper told SuperSport TV.
"We’re a young club we need to create history. This is an amazing opportunity to create history so let’s go for it."
The City shot-stopper was also the hero in the shoot-out, saving two spot-kicks as City progressed to the final.
“We did our homework, last week I spoke to our goalkeeper coach a few times [saying]; you know we go straight to penalties if we lose 1-0. Well that’s what happened," he added.
“The four guys who scored [in the penalties] did an amazing job. They made it easy for me, I’m very happy.
“We watched as many penalties as possible of Sundowns, I think that’s part of being a professional goalkeeper. We did our homework well and we’re lucky it paid off."
