Bidvest Wits' Xola Mlambo: Mamelodi Sundowns unlike Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates

Mlambo believes the fact that Sundowns also reached the CAF Champions League final this month makes them favourites to lift the MTN8 Cup at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

“Chiefs and Pirates are not Mamelodi Sundowns. When we go to that game we have to go with a fresh mentality saying we are playing against Sundowns,” Mlambo says.

“But not Chiefs or Pirates. Sundowns is a very difficult team to play and they are the favourites currently. So anyone who plays against Sundowns must up their game or else you will have a beating.

“They are a good side one has to give credit where it's due. But in a game of football, anything is possible, you can win by luck or proper preparations.

“But whatever happens, it will be the one whose most fortunate at the end of the day.”

The 25-year-old is also excited as he will be making his first appearance in a cup final after switching from Chippa United to the Clever Boys in the off-season.

“There is a little bit of excitement but I have to be content with that. I have to keep calm and focus on my game. Everything that happens, it will be the outcome of the cup final at the end of the day.

“I'm not raising my expectations very high, but we are going all out for it as a team.”
