Despite having three coaches on the bench, the 2019/20 treble winners failed to beat John Maduka and his Bloemfontein Celtic as they lost 1-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
"You can't really judge them on the first game, you can't. Liverpool got beaten by five goals, do you remember that? Just after winning a title. So I don't see any difference," Mhlongo insists to snl24.com/kickoff.
"What I don't like that we are doing as South Africans, we don't empower each other, and by that the national team suffers. Our development football suffers, our kids get lost along the way.
"I thought corona it was going to unite us, bring back ubuntu. But it seems we haven't learnt anything from Covid. We've been complaining about unemployment. Now football is a sport where per team you've got over 100 employees.
"We've got our three coaches at Sundowns, and us we have to advise them how to work together. We have to talk to them. Don't you think on the bench you should have one that is in charge, and maybe work together at half-time with each one handling his own department?
"What must happen to all the talent that played before us? We've lost John Moeti, we've lost Magents [Edward Motale]. I cannot say anything bad about the three coaches, all I want is for them to work together and succeed."
