Sundowns will battle Bidvest Wits for MTN8 honours in Nelspruit on Saturday before meeting Egyptian giants Zamalek in the CAF Champions League final next month.
Laffor has shone for Downs of late, netting in the 2-0 win over Zesco United this past weekend. However, he is mindful of the task ahead as the Brazilians seek to add to the league and Telkom Knockout titles they currently hold.
"It's not about me but the team. What happened on Saturday is history," says Laffor.
"We need to keep our feet on the ground and focus to the game on Saturday.
"On what George did I will never ever compare myself to George," he says of the humanitarian and 1995 World Player of the Year. "I am Anthony. I just have to keep my feet on the ground.
"It's not going to be easy in the (CAF Champions League) final but we have another game on Saturday. We need to concentrate before we think about the CAF final."
