Baroka secure back-to-back wins under Malesela

Baroka FC 4-0 Black Leopards

Baroka FC hammered Black Leopards 4-0 to record their second win of Motsepe Foundation Championship season on Sunday afternoon.

There were no goals in the first half before Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele bagged the opener soon into the resumption through Siyabonga Mthombeni.

Kabelo Kgositsele, who got the winner over Venda Football Academy last time out doubled their lead to leave Dan Ndlovu and Sekela Sithole to add the final nail in Lidoda Duvha's coffin.

Baroka have now secured back-to-back wins under Malesela while Leopards' struggles continue.

Hungry Lions 0-0 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United failed to register successive wins to close the gap at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a goalless draw against Hungry Lions on Sunday.

Both teams won their last encounters, as United overcame Platinum City Rovers before Lions crushed NB La Masia 4-0 thus the stalemate leave the two teams in the top-four.

Milford Stallions 2-0 Venda Football Academy

Milford Stallions continued their steady rise up the Motsepe Foundation Championship table in the way of a 2-0 victory over the struggling Venda Football Academy on Friday.

Following a poor start to the season that overshadowed a string of losses and propelled them to the bottom of the table, Milford now occupies 11th place on the standings.

Goals from Mvalo Zikakayo late in the first half and man of the match Menzi Chili in the latter exchanges were the difference and plummet Venda to the bottom of the table.

NB La Masia 1-0 Casric Stars

Daine Klate made a winning start to life in the hot seat of NB La Masia following a 1-0 victory over Casric Stars to hover in the top-half bracket.

The winner came in the second half from Shane Saralina and in the same breath handed Casric a second defeat in the space of many matches.

JDR Stars 0-0 University of Pretoria

JDR Stars wasted a big chance to close-in to the top of the table after failing to get past the University of Pretoria in a goalless draw in the Tshwane derby.

Before the FIFA break, the Hammerboys edged Magesi FC while AmaTuks defeated Black Leopards though this stalemate leaves both sides in the top eight.

Pretoria Callies 0-1 Orbit College

Orbit College remain at the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship courtesy of a narrow 1-0 victory over Pretoria Callies on Saturday.

A snap-shot involving danger-man Mbulelo Wagaba in the first half resulted in the winning strike, as the Romans failed to launch a comeback.

Kwanele Kopo's men suffer a second loss of the season which dropped them to the bottom-two and are yet to record a win as well.

Marumo Gallants FC 1-1 Upington City

Marumo Gallants FC avoided back-to-back losses and picked up a point after holding Upington City to a 1-1 draw.

Gallants went down to the high-flying newbies Orbit College in their last match before the international break though were keen to bounce back as Saziso Magawana opened the deadlock.

The visitors, who just signed former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Keletso Makgalwa and Bonginkosi Makume, snatched a point thanks to substitute Tshilo Thapelo.

Magesi FC 0-0 Platinum City Rovers

Magesi FC went within four points off table-toppers Orbit College following a goalless draw against the struggling Platinum City Rovers.

The host came off second best against JDR Stars in their last match, whilst Rovers went down to Maritzburg United on their own turf.
