The 61-year-old will reportedly sign a short-term contract until the end of the 2022/23 season with the task of overturning Black Leopards' recent struggles.

Da Gama's last job was with DStv Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United where he served as a co-coach and will now replace the outgoing Johnny Ferreira.

Leopards are currently rock bottom of the league standings in 16th position with a dismal 13 points from 17 matches.

"Yes, I'm speaking to him [Da Gama], we haven't finalised anything yet, but everything should be finalised today [Wednesday] though," Leopards manager Tshifiwa 'Chief' Thidiela tells KickOff.
