Unbeaten AmaTuks rescue a point in six-goal thriller

University of Pretoria 3-3 Black Leopards

University of Pretoria remain unbeaten in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after they came back from three goals down to rescue a 3-3 draw against Black Leopards on Friday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

Lidoda Duvha broke the deadlock just before the interval and got the second early in the second stanza courtesy of a penalty by Thiklas Thutlwa.

Matimu Tshabalala gave them a 3-0 lead around the hour-mark but AmaTuks pulled a goal back through Kamogelo Pheeane with 20 minutes remaining.

That was a catalyst they needed as Lulama Maqoko got the second goal back for the hosts ten minutes before time and Nhlanhla Zwane snatched the dramatic equaliser with two minutes remaining.

AmaTuks had to settle for third spot on the table, two points off the top place while Leopards went up to 13th on the log.

Polokwane City 2-1 JDR Stars

Polokwane City climbed up to the top of the table after beating JDR Stars 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Khomotjo Lekoloane broke the deadlock for Rise and Shine just before the half-time break and the home side doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time.

Ishmael Wadi reduced the deficit for JDR in stoppage time but it was too little too late.

City went one point clear at the top of the log while the Hammer Boyz dropped down to ninth.

Magesi 2-1 Hungry Lions

Hungry Lions missed the chance to go top of the table after a 2-1 defeat against Magesi on Saturday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Kagiso Selemela gave Magesi an early lead and Raymond Maluleke doubled their advantage with only 11 minutes on the clock.

Olwethu Ncube reduced the deficit for Lions nine minutes later.

Selemela had a big chance to restore a two-goal lead for Magesi from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark but he missed his spot-kick.

Lions' chances of coming back into the game were dented after they were reduced to ten men shortly after the hour-mark following the red-card of Kamogelo Mogotlane.

Magesi jumped up to eight on the table while Lions lost top spot and slipped down to second.

Pretoria Callies 1-2 Uthongathi

Uthongathi got back to winning ways after a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Pretoria Callies on Friday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Callies broke the deadlock just after the hour-mark but Falakhe Tshanini restored parity for Uthongathi three minutes later.

Fezile Gcaba snatched the winner for the Cane Cutters with 14 minutes remaining.

Uthongathi moved up to fourth on the table while Callies were condemned to the bottom of the log.

NB La Masia 0-0 Platinum City Rovers

Platinum City Rovers remained in the relegation zone after they were held to a goalless draw by NB La Masia on Friday afternoon at Bidvest Stadium.

However, a point moved City Rovers off the bottom of the log, as they leapfrogged Pretoria Callies in 15th spot while NB La Masia moved up to tenth.
