AmaTuks grab top spot with JDR scalp

JDR Stars 0-2 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria won their third game in a row after beating JDR Stars 2-0 in the Tshwane derby on Friday afternoon at Giant Stadium.

Nhlanhla Zwane broke the deadlock for AmaTuks five minutes into the second stanza and Kamogelo Pheeane doubled their lead just after the hour-mark. 

Last season's play-off competitors now lead the standings after five rounds of matches played, while Stars have slipped to eighth spot after their second loss of the season.

Polokwane City 2-0 Hungry Lions

Polokwane City got back to winning ways after beating Hungry Lions 2-0 Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Francis Baloyi and Puleng Marema were on target for Rise and Shine.

The victory sees Rise and Shine climb up to third on the standings, while Lions find themselves in sixth position.

Casric Stars 3-1 Black Leopards

Casric Stars secured their second win of the season after thrashing Black Leopards 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

Kgomotso Mosadi, Abubakar Mumuni and Mpho Khabane were on the scoresheet for the Mpumalanga-based side.

For Leopards, their poor start to the campaign continues after suffering a fourth loss in five matches.

Pretoria Callies 2-1 NB La Masia

Pretoria Callies clinched their first victory of the season after edging NB La Masia 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The Romans went ahead as early as the second minute and Mogamat May quickly found the equaliser for La Masia two minutes later.

However, Callies found the winner with 23 minutes remaining and moved up to 14th position.

Venda Football Academy 1-0 Baroka

Venda Football Academy bagged their second victory of the season after a narrow 1-0 win over Baroka in a Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Rhulani Manzini scored the decisive goal for VFA ten minutes before the half-time break.

Magesi 1-1 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila's three-game winning streak was halted after they rescued a 1-1 draw against Magesi in a Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Thokozani Hlubi opened the scoring for Magesi on 20 minutes but TTM rescued a point with the equaliser ten minutes before time.

All Stars 0-0 Uthongathi

Both All Stars and Uthongathi remained unbeaten after playing to a goalless draw on Saturday afternoon at Wits Football Stadium.

The sides have accumulated nine points so far, with the Cane Cutters in fourth place on the log and All Stars right behind them in fifth.
