Rise and Shine won their fifth game in a row, as they pulled three points clear at the top while La Masia were left lying 13th on the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Baroka FC 1-1 Magesi
Baroka's struggles continued after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Magesi in the Limpopo derby on Sunday afternoon at Baroka Village.
Kagiso Senamela gave Magesi an early lead against his former side but Ntiyiso Bombi restored parity for Baroka just before the interval.
Bakgaga were left lying 12th on the table while Magesi remained just ahead of their provincial rivals in 11th spot, two points better off.
Uthongathi 2-2 Black Leopards
Black Leopards extended their unbeaten run to five matches after playing out to a 2-2 draw against Uthongathi on Sunday afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium.
Lidoda Duvha went ahead on 17 minutes but Thato Mohlamme pulled Uthongathi level two minutes later.
Mohlamme grabbed the lead for the Cane Cutters shortly before the break and completed his brace.
However, Leopards found the equaliser just after the interval.
Uthongathi settled for a sixth spot on the table while Lidoda Duvha moved out of the relegation zone with a superior goal difference over Venda Football Academy.
University of Pretoria 0-1 Platinum City Rovers
University of Pretoria extended their winless run to six matches after a late 1-0 loss against Platinum City Rovers on Saturday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.
Nhlanhla Zwane was denied the opener for AmaTuks from a shot by the crossbar in the first stanza and Lulama Maqoko also had a header coming off the upright for the hosts early in the second stanza.
City Rovers took their chance in the last five minutes, as they clinched their third victory in a row.
AmaTuks dropped down to fifth on the table while City Rovers moved up to sixth.
Cape Town Spurs 2-1 Venda Football Academy
Cape Town Spurs secured back-to-back victories after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Venda Football Academy on Saturday afternoon at Athlone Stadium.
Onke Moletshe broke the deadlock for Venda just before the interval but Therlo Moosa restored parity for Spurs early in the second stanza.
Moosa eventually snatched what proved to be the winner for Shaun Bartlett's charges around the hour-mark.
Spurs climbed up to seventh on the table while VFA dropped down to second-from-bottom, two points from safety.
Casric Stars 2-0 Hungry Lions
Casric Stars climbed up to third on the table after beating Hungry Lions 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
After a goalless first stanza, Zulu broke the deadlock for Stars early in the second stanza and Sibusiso Milazi sealed the deal in the last minute.
Casric moved five points behind leaders Polokwane City while Hungry Lions remained in second place.

All Stars ended their four-game winless run after edging Pretoria Callies 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The Romans suffered their fifth defeat in six matches, as they remained rooted at the bottom of the table with five points while All Stars moved up to ninth.
JDR Stars 1-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila
JDR Stars won their second game in three matches after edging Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-0 on Friday afternoon at Giant Stadium.
After a goalless first stanza, Ishmael Wadi eventually broke the deadlock for JDR on the hour-mark and that was enough to secure maximum points.
JDR jumped up to fourth on the log, seven points behind leaders Polokwane City while Tshakhuma dropped down to tenth.
