Magesi bounce back from JDR mauling

JDR Stars followed up their merciless display against Magesi FC with a 1-0 win away to Cape Town Spurs to continue their in-roads into the top-half.

It is Spurs second defeat in a row, as the Hammerboyz netted the winner in the second half following a goalless first period.

Magesi FC 2-1 Casric Stars

Magesi FC recovered from the midweek hammering by JDR Stars to edge Casric Stars 2-1 and hand them their first defeat of the season too.

A brace in the first half from Thabiso Botopela led the Championship's new boys to maximum boys, with Mpho Khabane on target for the visiting outfit.

MM Platinum 1-1 Uthongathi FC

Fellow newbies MM Platinum ended a run of two successive defeats in the Championship through a 1-1 draw against Uthongathi at the Wits Football Stadium in Braamfontein.

The Cane Cutters were ahead on seven minutes through Khetokuhle Mbutho, but Platinum also known as La Masia rescued a point through Corburn Woodington and denied Uthongathi top spot.

All Stars FC 2-1 Polokwane City

Polokwane City suffered their first defeat of the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Friday following a 2-1 loss to All Stars FC at the Wits Football Stadium in Braamfontein.

It was goalless during the first half, but All Stars came out following the break and struck twice inside minutes through Justice Figuareido and a stunner from Siphelo Baloni.

Rise and Shine put up a fight in the hope of a salvaging something from this contest courtesy of Puleng Marema's scorching free-kick, but in the end the day belonged to Stars.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 2-0 Venda Football Academy

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC went to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table with a 2-0 win over Venda Football Academy in the Limpopo derby on Saturday.

It is Vhadau vhadamani's third win in a row, as goals in the second half from free-scoring duo Moeketsi Sekola and Thabiso Nkoana secured the win and handed Venda their second straight defeat.

Hungry Lions FC 3-2 Platinum City Rovers

Hungry Lions FC returned to winning ways in an entertaining 3-2 victory over the bottom-placed and winless Platinum City Rovers in Kimberley.

Lions hit the ground running through Olwethu Ncube and doubled their lead through Boikanyo Maritshe, before Rovers pulled one back.

Di Tau made the points safe after halftime when Muzomuhle Khanyi made it three amidst a late fight back from the visiting outfit.

Pretoria Callies 0-1 University of Pretoria

Pretoria Callies' dismal start to the season continued after going down 1-0 to the University of Pretoria in the Tshwane derby at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

With four matches played, Callies lie second-bottom on the table and are still without a win and have earned just one point so far.

AmaTuks though collected their second win of the bounce to keep their top-half standing intact as the winner came late in the first half from Lungelo Nguse.

Black Leopards 0-1 Baroka FC

Baroka FC secured their second straight win in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in a 1-0 triumph over Black Leopards in the Limpopo derby on Sunday.

A penalty in the second period from Thabang Mokoena was all Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele needed to get the maximum points and continue their surge up the table.
