Rise and Shine punish winless Leopards

Magesi FC 1-2 Cape Town Spurs

Newly-promoted Magesi FC slumped to their first defeat of the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following a 2-1 loss to Cape Town Spurs on Friday.

Veteran Vuyisile Wana broke the deadlock in the first half from the spot, but substitute Ashley Cupido levelled before Therlo Moosa completed the comeback to give Spurs their first win of the season.

Polokwane City 3-0 Black Leopards

Black Leopards suffered their second defeat on Saturday against city rivals Polokwane City after going down 3-0 in the Limpopo derby.

Lidoda Duvha started their season last weekend with a loss to Hungry Lions FC at home, but Rise and Shine held off University of Pretoria and earned a draw.

Baroka FC 0-0 All Stars FC

Baroka FC picked up their first point in their Championship campaign after holding All Stars FC to a goalless draw in Limpopo.

The host, who were relegated from the DStv Premiership last season, lost their season opener to Uthongathi FC last weekend whereas All Stars overcame Platinum City Rovers last Friday.

JDR Stars 0-0 Casric Stars

JDR Stars, who also started their campaign on the back-foot against MM Platinum, grabbed their first point after playing to a goalless draw against Casric Stars.

Casric made a winning start to the season as they saw off Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC and this point against JDR keep their fast start to the campaign intact.

Pretoria Callies 0-1 Hungry Lions FC

Hungry Lions maintained their perfect start to the season with another 1-0 win away from home this time against Pretoria Callies in Atteridgeville.

A finish from Muzi Khanyi was all it took for Di Tau to claim the maximum points and hand Callies their maiden defeat of the season.

Venda Football Academy 1-0 Platinum City Rovers

Platinum City Rovers remained winless as the Potchefstroom-based outfit slumped to a 1-0 loss away to the Venda Football Academy.

Thanzi Mbedzi's finish towards the conclusion of the first half issued Venda their maiden win of the campaign following their opening day defeat against Magesi FC.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 2-0 MM Platinum

New boys MM Platinum suffered their first defeat of the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Sunday with a 2-0 loss against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.

Goals from Mthokozisi Nene in the first half and former Free State Stars striker Moeketsi Sekola in the second led Vhadau vhadamani to their first win this term.

Uthongathi FC 0-0 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria remained winless after securing their second goalless draw in as many matches this time at Uthongathi FC.

AmaTuks started their season last Sunday at home with the same outcome against Polokwane City, while the Cane Cutters had a winning start at Baroka FC.
