Maritzburg United 3-1 Orbit College
Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders Orbit College saw their lead reduced following a 3-1 loss to Maritzburg United on Saturday.
The Team of Choice came off back-to-back losses and were keen to get their campaign back on track as Reagan Van der Ross got them ahead at the interval.
John Kamatuka increased their cushion before the final nail coffin followed, with Orbit only getting a consolation and left the host to grab the full complement of points.
Platinum City Rovers 1-0 Black Leopards
Platinum City Rovers moved off the bottom-two in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following a 1-0 victory over Black Leopards at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Lidoda Duvha started brightly and looked to have taken an early lead through a composed finish from Bethuel Mezue, but it was brought back and disallowed for offside.
The host though ultimately got over the line when Simphiwe Ndlovu converted around the conclusion of the first half and saw the visitors empty handed and outside the top eight too.
Baroka FC 2-0 Hungry Lions
Hungry Lions were unable to take advantage of Orbit College's slip up after going down 2-0 to Baroka FC and dropped into third spot.
Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele made the opening around the final exchanges of the first half through Lehlogonolo Nonyane and left Di Tau with their backs against the wall.
Lions didn't manage a comeback despite their fine start to the season and evidently went down after Sekela Sithole added a second to make the points safe.
Casric Stars 1-1 Upington City
Casric Stars failed to solidify their seventh-place standing and battled to a tense 1-1 draw against Upington City.
It took the host just 12 minutes to go in front as Ngoanamello Rammala found the net, but Bafana Ba Gucci salvaged a point early in the second half through Clayton Maravela.
Casric finished with ten players after defender Nkwenana got his marching orders following an on-field indiscretion, as it finished all square.
Venda Football Academy 2-0 Magesi FC
Venda Football Academy got back to winning ways after their midweek loss and overcame Magesi FC 2-0 to move three points off the dreaded quagmire.
The host came off second-best against Hungry Lions on Wednesday, while Magesi edged Marumo Gallants to halt a three-match winless run.
However, goals from Edmore Chirambadare and Adebare Babatunde were enough to get the home team over the line at the expense of Magesi and ensured the maximum points.
Marumo Gallants FC 0-0 University of Pretoria
Marumo Gallants FC and University of Pretoria couldn't be separated and played a disappointing goalless draw out at the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbiljpaark.
Both teams lost in midweek, with Gallants going down to Hungry Lions before AmaTuks let a late advantage slip from their grasp against Upington City.
Milford Stallions 3-3 JDR Stars
JDR Stars missed the chance to end the weekend in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on top following an entertaining 3-3 draw against Milford Stallions on Sunday.
Forward Prince Nxumalo continued his scoring run when he opened the deadlock early in the first half, but Menzi Chili clawed Milford level after halftime and set up a lively encounter.
The host then got in front for the first time through a smartly taken finish by Mvalo Zikakayo only for Elias Mocheko to bring the Hammerboys level moments later.
Milford threatened a win though in the final ten minutes and saw Chili profit to bag a brace, but Nxumalo came to his side's rescue and levelled it up at the death.
Pretoria Callies 0-0 NB La Masia
The winless run coupled by a strong of draws continued for Pretoria Callies after holding NB La Masia score-less at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
This one point leaves the Romans rooted at the bottom of the table, while La Masia remain in the bottom-half and the denied the chance to get back to winning ways following their midweek loss to the leaders Orbit College.
