Baroka set for mass exodus

Baroka FC head coach Dan Malesela has deemed up to six of the club's players surplus to requirement.

Club chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has confirmed the departure of the six players, with two of them still negotiating a settlement.

"We are not done with Mfanafuthi Shozi and Masilake Phohlongo, we are still waiting for them to come to the office so we can finalize the settlement," Mphahlele tells KickOff.

"We've finalized everything with Rebone Ntsoane and Tshepo Mofokeng, and also with the other two players, the coach says he will not be using them.

"Shozi and Phohlongwana we are still talking to them. We are looking to make an amicable agreement.

"We are currently busy with the assessment of some new boys, and so far they look good.

"But you know with these players, sometimes while they are on assessment they look good, but once you sign them they become something different.

"There's one from Daveyton, there's also one from Giyani. And there's another one who comes from Soshanguve.

"We've learned about them through the coach's connection. Our coach has a good connection, everybody knows him.

"Our plan in the second round is to win all our matches. We've got about seven home matches in our remaining games this season.

"If we can win all those seven home matches we will be home and dry."

Baroka currently sit third on the Motsepe Foundation Championship table, with 13 matches remaining. They are only three points shy of table toppers Orbit College FC.
