As a signal of intent and ambition for the 2025/26 season, a PSL club has taken the step of roping a former Orlando Pirates defender into their technical team.
Lions are set to campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season after buying the status of Pretoria Callies.

The club has since relocated to North West and are looking forward to hosting their home games at the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg.
Former Mpumalanga Football Academy boss Tshepo Maphari has also joined as head coach.
According to sources close to Lerumo, the club is also set to sign midfielder Mphakamiseni Nene from Royal AM.
"Lizo Mjempu is in the camp and assisting Tshepo Maphari in the technical team. Nene is also training with the team and expected to sign," revealed one source.
Meanwhile, Lerumo are hoping to keep midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu. The former Orlando Pirates man is on the wanted list of a number of Betway Premiership teams.

"Zungu is here and played in the friendly match against Siwelele. The club wants to keep him but has some offers from PSL (topflight)," the source added.
Lerumo boss Sibongile Marokana is the second women in the PSL to own a club this season after Golden Arrows chairlady Mato Madlala.
