Lawyer responds to Mnisi, Gallants, Sangoma allegations

The lawyer of experienced football administrator Sinky Mnisi has responded to allegations that Marumo Gallants paid his client around R1 million to find the team a sangoma who would help them win games.

The sangoma would have helped the Motsepe Foundation Championship club bounce back straight to the DStv Premiership, with reports of the Abram Sello-owned club is demanding their money back.

"We haven't received any documents relating to this particular high court matter that they are referring to," Mnisi's lawyer Kabelo Mashego tells KickOff.

"As a lawyer you know without a case number it's even harder for me to uplift that kind of paper from the courts.

"So short of me being served with any papers, short of our clients being served with any papers, I'm not familiar with any issues relating to this matter of a lawsuit in relation and about this money and the sangoma claims.

"We find it a little bit absurd, and we will deal with it through the appropriate channels. In court papers and issues, that need to be dealt with in proper channels.

"I asked my client if he had been served with any papers, and he told me no he didn't receive anything. I checked at my office and no one received anything, the club knows our email address if they want to serve via email, they have Mr Mnisi's address, and they have my address as well," Mashego added.

"They could have called if they didn't find anyone at the office. But like I'm saying we are not familiar with any of these papers and I can't comment any further than my two cents on the kind of principles that they trying to rely on in terms of trying to get this money.

"And without knowing what the papers are saying I can't comment further than that."

Contacted for his side of the story, Gallant's chairman Abram Sello refused to comment on the matter.

"I'm not even going to entertain that one," is all that Sello was prepared to say.
