Sundowns legend cautions Rulani on Mokoena & Co.

Mamelodi Sundowns legend John Tlale is not happy with the way some of the club's players are being overused by the technical team.

The Tshwane giants have a date with Tunisian outfit in the CAF Champions League semi-final second leg at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Friday.

Tlale backs the Premier Soccer League's decision not to postpone Sundowns' league match against Sekhukhune United, taking place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.

The former goalkeeper says there is no use for a football club to have depth if they are going to ask for some of their league matches to be postponed.

"Sundowns have depth, they have enough players to contest, and the league is already wrapped up anyway," Tlale tells KickOff.

"They must play both games, that's the reason they have so many players anyway. They have more than enough players to compete in both competitions, it's just that most of them are rusty. "Because of rustiness, they look like they are struggling, but they are quality players who can compete any time," he adds.

Tlale suggests how the head coach and his technical team can approach the encounter with Babina Noko, who together with the likes of Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates are chasing a second-place finish.

"Every position at Sundowns has quality players, so they can play tonight's game with the fringe players and rest the likes of Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena.

"Rulani Mokwena, against Tuks, was supposed to show confidence in his other players. You can't play your best players against Tuks.

"The league is already wrapped up and the gap is too big, and they still have games in hand.

"Giving a chance to other players doesn't mean you will lose against Sekhukhune, but if you play the likes of Mokoena today, then they will not be able to compete against Esperance on Friday.

"Already Sundowns are a different team compared to three months ago because of their hectic schedule. As a player, you can't play three games in one week.

"Winning the second Champions League star is more important than the league that has already been won by the way.

"If you play Mokoena and Modiba against Sekhukhune, then what's the use of having in depth in your team? Players should be rotated."
