In the latest edition of My Dream Team, former Mamelodi Sundowns player Dan Semake reveals the 10 best players he featured alongside during his storied football career.
What Formation?
"4-4-2.
"It was a basic formation in our time. It guides you as a player to never forget which position you are playing. It made things simpler for us. It was popular back then.

Goalkeeper
"John Tlale. Positioning-wise he was always on top. He was also very good when it came to communication."

Defenders
"Right-back will be me, Dan Semake. I had pace and stamina, and I was a very hard man. It was not easy to beat me during one on ones.
"At Left-back is Lovers Mohlala. Me and him we were almost similar. He had stamina so just like me he could overlap; he delivered good crosses.
"My centre-back is the late Joas Magolego. He was a leader. He stood up for every player at Sundowns. When he spoke, everybody listened.
"I will pair him with Themba Mnguni. He was a fighter."

Midfield
"Left side, it's Isaac Shai. He was intelligent, he had an educated left foot.
"On the right, it's Lucky Xaba he was clever. He was very skilful.
"In midfield, we had the General, Roger Feutmba who specialised in passes.
"Then also in midfield, it's the maestro Charles Motlohi. He had everything."

Strikers
"Raphael Chukwu and Daniel Mudau will be my forwards. Chukwu was a bulldozer. He knew exactly where the goals are. Likewise, with Mudau. It's just that Mudau was not physically imposing.

Substitutes
"Usually our second-choice goalkeepers were average. But I would choose Itumeleng Khune if I had to steal from other clubs.
"Defender will be OJ Mabizela, quality, a complete player.
"Midfielder I will put Jabu Pule. He would always create something out of nothing.
"My striker on the bench is Wilfred Mugeyi, he's almost similar to Raphael Chukwu."
Coach
"Clemens Westerhof. He knew how to pull you up as a team when you were down. He was not the kind of coach who would remind you of your mistakes during half-time, instead, he gave you solutions."
