Rivaldo Coetzee’s departure at Mamelodi Sundowns will put him on the market for a free transfer for the first time in his career.
Coetzee is leaving Sundowns upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June and will do so after eight years at Chloorkop.

The eight years spent at Sundowns have come with the benefits of being a league winner in all those years while adding two Nedbank Cup titles, Carling KnockOut, MTN8, and African Football League.
Unfortunately, Coetzee will not get to play at the FIFA Club World Cup.
His exit will come following a lengthy period of not playing having last featured back in October when Manqoba Mngqithi was still calling the shots at the club.
With domestic football only due to resume in August, it will have been 10 months since he last played should he get a new club by then and get to play right away when the new campaign starts.
This will be the first time that he moves on a free transfer with Sundowns having forked close to R10 million in getting him from Ajax Cape Town back in 2017.
Coetzee’s injuries restricted him to only 635 minutes spread over eight appearances in the 2024/25 season.
His injury concerns through the years have meant he spent all season (2017/18) without playing straight after joining Sundowns.
It took about 16 months before he got to make his debut for The Brazilians.

Then since playing his first match for Sundowns he had frequent niggles which left him on the field for only a third of the matches that the club played through his time at Chloorkop.
The consequence has been that the 28-year-old’s Bafana Bafana career has been in the freezer for the past four years with his last appearance having come while Molefi Ntseki was still in charge.
