After a tumultuous journey career wise, he defied the odds to become a mainstay in the Kaizer Chiefs starting XI and is rising to a Bafana Bafana star. Although, his rewards stretch even further than that.
The 28-year-old is enjoying a rich vein of form after after ceasing a spot in the starting line-up as soon as it had opened up for him. While opportunities are more likely to reach outfield players, a goalkeeper will get their chance every once in a while and because of its scarcity, they have no choice but to snap it up, which is exactly what Bvuma did.

With some stellar performances in a Chiefs jersey, Bvuma will now get his reward. The star has been called up to represent his country with national team manager Hugo Broos praising him, and hinting at him becoming the Bafana Bafana's main in the coming years."We have to look also for a younger keeper for the next years," Said Broos per SABC1 via The South African. "And it becomes a good opportunity now to call Bruce.
"Bruce was with us from the beginning I was here. And then as a result of the team, he didn't play anymore for Chiefs and now he played all the game for Chiefs. So I think he deserves a chance."
Regardless of what happens in a player's career, getting the opportunity to represent your national team at any level will always be a fond memory for anyone.
Of course, to achieve such feats in life, one needs a strong support structure that will help you stand strong, and not faulter when faced with adversity. Fortunately for Bvuma, he has one and it features his wife — whom he has referred to very lovingly on many occasions.
Being in a loving relationship can provide emotional stability and support, which is crucial for athletes, especially during the highs and lows of their careers. They are also constantly in high pressure environments, ones that demand excellence and high standards on a regular basis so a supportive partner could very well help alleviate stress and anxiety, allowing the player to focus better on their performance.
"I enjoy doing this life thing with you. Never forget that I love you. Sometimes it's hard to find words to tell you how much you mean to me. if I did anything right in my life, it was when I gave my heart to you. You are my best friend, my soulmate, my everything," Bvuma wrote about her on social media.
What he has also been blessed with thus far in his career, is beautiful sets of wheels and based on what cars he owns, the goalkeeper seems to be an avid BMW enthusiast. The goalkeeper seems to have two in his collection, one hatchback and one sedan is a BMW 3 Series 320i while the hatchback. Both of them, however, are fantastic examples of top-class engineering!
