As Pirates celebrate the achievements of women across society, the club has been hosting special halftime tributes at Orlando Stadium. During these moments, women are honoured with various gifts, a symbolic gesture that has been warmly received by many.
However, while fans, both women and men, appreciate the recognition, many are calling for more than symbolic gestures. They are urging the club to take concrete action by launching a professional women’s football team.
Pirates recently shared stunning images on Instagram showing women playing football and receiving gifts at the stadium. The post, though filled with praise, also sparked a wave of comments from fans encouraging the club to go further in supporting women in football.

Bucs only have associated themselves with the University of Johannesburg Women's team for CAF Inter-club purposes, as they are required to have a team.
