Off-season bliss: Mabasa unwinds after stellar season

As someone who understands the relentless demands of a long football season, Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa is making the most of his well-earned break during the off-season.

The Story

Pirates goal-poacher Mabasa has been spotted soaking up the sun on an island getaway, although the exact location remains unknown.

The 28-year-old forward shared glimpses of his holiday on social media, posting pictures and videos of himself relaxing on a beach, dressed in swimwear and clearly enjoying the downtime.

His posts quickly drew attention, with several of his Buccaneers teammates chiming in with humorous and supportive comments.

After a standout 2024/25 campaign, Mabasa certainly deserves the break. He was instrumental in Bucs’ attacking force, netting 15 goals across all competitions.

Having regained top form and confidence, Mabasa’s performance this past season not only silenced critics but also re-established him as a key figure in the Sea Robbers squad.

With rest and recovery now soon to be over, Mabasa will soon return refreshed, ready to hit the ground running and lead the Buccaneers' charge in the new campaign.

Pirates will travel to Spain for the pre-season camp, where they will play several teams under a new coach, who is yet to be hired.
