Throughout the 2024/25 season, he stood out alongside rising talents like Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota, consistently dazzling with his flair and creativity.

Now, with the Sea Robbers having bolstered their squad, with players including the ever-popular Sipho Mbule, Maswanganyi seems poised to take things up a notch.

Currently in Spain for pre-season training, "Tito" featured in Pirates' opening friendly against Bolton Wanderers, which ended in a 2-0 defeat on Friday morning.

But before kickoff, Maswanganyi was making waves. In a pre-match interview with SuperSport TV, he revealed a surprising twist, a new nickname. Dubbed by Mbule, Maswanganyi will now be known as "Travis Scott", a name to American rapper.

Speaking to SuperSport, the Pirates star said: "That's my new nickname. I just like Travis Scott a lot. I play his music, so that's why they call me Travis Scott.

"It has nothing to do with (the new hairstyle). I think [the hairstyle] it's something that I wanted to do in the off season.

"It's going to be my new look for the season. So I'm very happy about it."

With swagger off the pitch to match his skills on it, fans can expect big things from the dynamic 27-year-old "Travis Scott" in the 2025/26 season.
