Lebogang Phiri's obsession with lush holiday resorts

South African star Lebo Phiri clearly appreciates a luxurious holiday destination, with the playmaker have visited several top class locations in Greece, Dubai, and Turkey. Here's a look!

The story

According to Transfermarkt, the central midfielder is not eligible to play for his club Caykur Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig until January 2024 after spending last season out on loan at French Ligue 2 outfit Paris FC. Nevertheless, the 28-year-old will have six months to compete in Turkey's top-flight should he remain at the club.

Although it is obvious he would like to return on the pitch as soon as possible, the Johannesburg-born baller could potentially use this time to explore some more lush destinations in Europe and in the Mediterranean coast, as he has shown an affinity for the nicer things in life.

Nammos Mykonos

Phiri seems quite big on scenery and quality leisure experiences after he was spotted in the luxurious holiday city of Mykonos in Greece a few months ago. The maestro visited the world-famous seaside restaurant, Nammos, which requires victors to be prepared to spend between €200 and €300 (R4k and 6k) for a day, according to some travel bloggers. The restaurant is located at the extravagant Nammos Village, which also offers a luxury shopping experience and entertainment. Perhaps fittingly, Phiri was seen posing in front of the high-end store Ermanno Scervino, seemingly suggesting that shopping was also on his itinerary.

Other locations he has visited during his nomadic career include the Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum, Turkey. The Oriental offers sweeping panoramic views over the tropical Aegean Sea and boasts Mediterranean style resorts, as the charming location is also a sailing hotspot for ocean lovers.

A popular destination Dubai, is also a spot has ticked off on his travel bucket list after he visited the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai. The luxury hotel features a private beach, over 400s luxury rooms, and has the stunning backdrop of the Dubai Marina skyline, which captures the glamour and vibe of the United Arab Emirates.
