With MLS star Njabulo Blom having opened up on his omission from Bafana Bafana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, KickOff readers have given their thoughts with some giving their owns reasons as to why he didn't make it.
What's the story?
Despite shining for the side against Eswatini in October, he was not included in Broos' final squad that would travel to Ivory Coast where they reached the semi-finals of the competition. He opened up on his omission, admitting that it was hard to take.
"It was a a bit hard (to no be part of the Bafana squad) because obviously, I always want to play for my national team, represent my national team," Blom told St. Louis Post Dispatch.
"But if it doesn't happen, I'm always happy to be here and I know that back home we still have good players, good guys that can perform on a bigger platform like AFCON."
Check out what the KO community had to say:
"He shot himself in the foot this one when he lied about being sick before that friendly match, Monare was not gonna be called if Broos wasn't angry at Blom and he is still going to be side-lined for a long time," says Mthobisi Wiseman Miya.
"These guys sometimes think they are special and irreplaceable," says Neo Motloung Daniel.
"His biggest mistake was choosing games. Yes the match might have been of less importance but for coaches, such matches help build combinations. Blom could have been the best replacement for when Zwane got tired. Hugo was forced to drop Tau to playmaker each time Zwane was substituted. Blom can play different positions can shoot from outside the box. The coach could even use him direct or push Mokoena forward when making substitutes," says Ducks Ramatswana.
"These kind of players don't respect our country because they choose the games they want to feature in, forgetting that it's important for the coach to build a solid foundation and a good combination," says John Mokoena.
"It really doesn't matter, as long as he plays his football overseas. For some, AFCON is just for them to showcase their talents on the world level. He has done that already," says Menzisto Nkala.
"This one also thinks he's big. Your position is well taken. You will be bench warmer wen you come back," says Malwale Thabang.
"He is feelling the pain not getting an AFCON medal," says Zet Zet.
"He was the missing puzzle," says Phou Cus.

Meanwhile, Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali opened up on a potential move away from South Africa, but admitted that he will not be rushing into any decision.
"People have been sending messages like they want me to move to Europe or they want me to move to a bigger club," he told Arise News, via Soccernet.ng.
"I really appreciate that, but to be honest, one thing about me is that I always feel comfortable even if I'm in a small place; I don't like to rush."
Here's what the KO faithful said:
"In my opinion he is not a good goalkeeper. l actually struggle to understand why his country chose him. He thinks the AFCON has elevated his profile when infact it has exposed him. Going to Europe is being too ambitious for him," says Zakhele Mkatshane.
"Ronwen Williams was the best keeper of the tournament. He plays in the PSL. This one is just a Big Mouth nje. But he can leave SA and PSL, best of luck to him," says Mrefana Wa-MoAfrika.
"He had a great tournament. Took his country to the finals. Well done to him," says Manjati Fabregas.
"What is making him to feel so special? Because there is nothing special about him. It is just that he was lucky in the tournament," says Tornado Willy Stsuatsua.
"This keeper is overrated, Nigeria has a good defence and compare to how many goals he conceded at Chippa," says Tzar Kagisho.
"I would advise you to move to a better club in Nigeria. You don't need Europe to be the best," says Hlayisani Baloyi.
"the problem is that he doesn't want truth To be seen in PSL conceding lot of goals then relegated with Mamila," writes Johan Mnisi.
"This one is overrated. He couldn't make it out of Chippa until the AFCON inflated his value," says African Power.
"I wish he can play few games for Chippa then those interested on him will make a U-turn," says Sandile Bhodlinyma Bulwana.
