Burnley sat down with the striker as they prepare for a tough start to the Premier League season, which will see them face Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City within their opening six league games.

The Bafana Bafana forward told Burnley’s official website while in Portugal:

“We're taking it day by day, week by week, but of course we're all looking forward to it starting up again.

"The most important thing is that we're ready – and we're all looking forward to the final month before we go to Tottenham on the opening day.”

“We're working hard, it's tough going, but it's good to break a sweat and get prepared for the start of the season.

"They're all tough sessions, there's been a real intensity to everything we've done since we arrived out here in Portugal.

"The heat is a factor, it adds to the intensity. It's hot, you're sweating, you're gasping for air, but we know this is what pre-season is all about.

"We're taking on loads of cold water at the right times, so we're well equipped to deal with it.

"It's what's needed to stand us in good stead for when we return to England next week.”

He added: “It's been a good few weeks since we returned.

"We've got a good foundation in place and we're in a spot where we're starting to hit the right levels with our work.”
