With Samukele Kabini having made a big move to Molde, it has emerged that he narrowly missed the opportunity to play alongside a South Africa-eligible star at the Norwegian club. Here's a look!
The Story
Kabini joined Molde from TS Galaxy in March in a deal worth €760,000 (approximately R15 million), according to Transfermarkt.
The 21-year-old defender signed a contract running until December 2028 and has already made eight appearances for Molde, contributing one goal and two assists.

While it doesn’t appear that Kabini has had any trouble adjusting to life in Norway, the left-back could have formed a new partnership with Alwande Roaldsoy.
Roaldsoy is a 21-year-old central midfielder, born in Lorenskog to a Norwegian father and South African mother.
He left Molde to join fellow top-flight side Hamarkameratene on loan until December 2025.
His temporary departure from the club was confirmed just days before Kabini arrived.
Although eligible to represent Bafana Bafana through his mother, Roaldsoy currently features for the Norway U21 national team, for whom he has already made three appearances.
His most recent outing came earlier this month, when he featured in Norway's 4–0 win over Wales U21 in an international friendly.
There is currently no indication as to whether Roaldsoy would consider switching allegiance to play for Bafana.
Kabini, meanwhile, recently featured for Hugo Broos' South Africa side in the 2–0 win over Mozambique earlier this month.
