Gonzalez reaches 20 goals post-Chiefs...

Kaizer Chiefs will be left wondering why Efmamjjasond Gonzalez’s loan spell at the club never worked with goals raining for the Colombian.

Gonzalez’s time at Chiefs was so bad that he left without scoring after featuring 13 games (554 minutes) during the 2023/24 season.

Yet since then, it has been all productive for the big forward.

His time back at his parent club Real Santa Cruz in the second half of last year came with six goals for the Bolivian Primera Division strugglers who were eventually relegated.

Those goals caught the interest of Club Always Ready, and he made the move in January.

Always Ready are top of the standing largely due to Gonzalez who scored 12 goals in 16 appearances before leaving on loan to Chinese League One club Shijiazhuang Gongfu just over a week ago.

The 26-year-old has scored twice in his first two games pushing his tally to 20 since he left Chiefs.

Gonzalez scored on his debut seven days ago against Dingnan United in a game which ended 1-1 and then converted from the spot on Saturday as his team won 3-1.

Meanwhile, Nyasha Mushekwi’s scoring spree continued as he hammered a brace for Dalian K’un City in their 2-2 draw against Guangdong GZ-Power FC.

K’UN City play in the same league as Gonzalez’s team.

With his latest goals, Mushekwi has now scored 12 plus one assist in 16 games since he joined K’un City at the beginning of this season.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker has been on double scoring figures for 12 of the 15 years that he has played professional football in South Africa, Sweden, and China.
