New allegations to land Nabi in hot water?

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi could land in hot water with the PSL DC after his perceived acts of misconduct against Golden Arrows.

Nabi received a red card just after the final whistle in Chiefs' 1-0 defeat to Arrows after he berated referee Olani Kwinda for not adding more stoppage time and for allegedly favouring the opposition, according to the version of first assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef.

However, former referee Victor Hlungwani has alleged the Tunisian-Belgian used swearwords towards Kwinda and that's why he was red-carded.

"The Kaizer Chiefs coach got a red card, for what? For using inappropriate words, correctly so, and funny enough, it was in English the words that were said," Hlungwani alleged on Metro FM Sports.

Hlungwani was asked for reassurance that Nabi used foul language in English towards the referee.

"Yes, swearing in English. He used swearwords against the referee," he reiterated.

According to the NSL Handbook on 'Misconduct', "the following are specifically declared to be acts of misconduct on the part of any person or body falling under jurisdiction of the League":-

"Any act which insults someone in any way, especially by using offensive gestures, or by violating the principles of fair play or behaving in an unsporting way," reads article 55.3.6.7.

The next sub-paragraph on misconducts also reads: "Any act or threat of violence, intimidation or abuse of a match official."

Another act of misconduct that could land Nabi in serious trouble is that his attitude towards the referee could be seen as inciting violence from the Chiefs fans, who could follow his behaviour of yelling at the match official, potentially causing spectator misbehaviour.

Another sub-paragraph reads as follows: "Any provocation of the spectators during a match."

The 59-year-old coach could be deemed to be "provoking" the supporters by charging and allegedly using swearwords and putting the blame on the referee for an undesirable result.

The PSL DC has the powers to summon any member of the League to a hearing, should they have evidence of any particular person infringing on the NSL Handbook, affectionately known as bringing the League into disrepute.

In this instance, the DC would largely rely on the match report of Kwinda, who presided over the aforementioned match.
