Nabi reacts as Vitesse go all aggro

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has made an admission on the one aspect of the game where SBV Vitesse were better than his charges in their pre-season friendly that ended in defeat.

Amakhosi got their pre-season preparations underway earlier this week and got a chance to put the work to the test when they faced Dutch' second-tier outfit SVB Vitesse on Tuesday.

The match, in which Nabi fielded two separate teams in either half, ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts.

Although the result has prompted some panic for the  supporters who were among the 150 000 who streamed the match live on the club's YouTube platform, the man barking instructions from the touchline has called for calm.

"It's all about the objective we have set out for our pre-season," said Nabi, per the Soweto giants' website.

"We trained very hard the last few days, which was very tough for the players physically. So, I am not really worried about the result of this pre-season training match.

"It's more about seeing all the players in action and trying out different formations.

"We controlled the game in the first half and could even perhaps have scored one or two more goals," he noted, adding the opponents played aggressively in the second stanza.

"Too aggressively, I felt. However, that was also a good lesson for our players - how to deal with this kind of aggressive display from an opponent.

"Overall, I am happy with what I saw tonight."
