'Nabi is the right man to win Chiefs the league'

In this latest edition of Supporters Forum, Kaizer Chiefs' top fan, William Mukwevho, expresses his joy with the nation following the Nedbank Cup final victory on Saturday.

This marks Amakhosi's first piece of silverware in 10 years, yet there are rumors that the club intends to sack the very coach who helped them end their trophy drought.

"I told you we would win a trophy this season because of the quality and the technical team that management brought to the club. I always knew they would bring about change, happy days are back," Mukwevho tells KickOff.

"Our team, Kaizer Chiefs, has improved significantly this season. Though we are still lacking in some areas, such as the goalkeeping department.

"Coach Nasreddine Nabi has introduced changes in our playing style, we are now playing in a more entertaining manner. Nabi and his technical team have brought stability to the squad.

"Winning this trophy will motivate younger players like Mduduzi Shabalala, Mfundo Vilakazi, Wandile Duba, and those from the DDC. You could see during the semi-final against Sundowns that they desired victory more. People are so happy that Kaizer Chiefs is considered the heartbeat of South Africa. Now the Rand is performing better as well. We are the most supported team in Africa.

"Even children who have never seen Kaizer Chiefs lift a trophy are astonished by how the entire country is celebrating this achievement.

"The management of Kaizer Chiefs needs to give the coach another chance; he is bringing real changes and is a master tactician. I believe he will lead us to the league title in the next two seasons. We just need to add three more players, and we’ll be set.

"Coach Nabi is the right man to help us win the league. He has qualified us for the CAF Confederations Cup. What we achieved this season was not by luck, we made good signings," he added.

"Before Nabi, we were struggling. Therefore, Coach Nasreddine Nabi must be retained, letting him go now will only make things difficult as we will be starting from scratch again.

"I have faith that Nabi will help us secure a spot in the top eight now that the immense pressure of not winning a trophy in ten years has been lifted from the players' shoulders, they will play with more freedom.

"Chopping and changing coaches will not solve our problems. The man has delivered a trophy for us, what more could we ask of him?

"The last four games of the season are going to be sold out because we want to support the team and finish in the top eight."
