Khune: Chiefs must call Nabi to order

The professionalism of Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has come into question, with Itumeleng Khune feeling 'disappointed' after an incident prior to the game against Golden Arrows.

Nabi has criticized the media before for raising expectations on Chiefs to be title contenders, after they could not sustain a bright start under his reign.

However, the Tunisian-Belgian himself is guilty of raising the expectations after he adopted, in his first few pre- and post-match interviews, banter from the fans that he is 'cooking', only for results not to go in his favour.

With pressure mounting, the 59-year-old coach was wearing headphones during the side's pitch inspection with the players before the game against Arrows, something that calls into question his professionalism.

Former Chiefs captain and goalkeeper Khune says he felt disappointed seeing Nabi wearing headphones and giving them to Mfundo Vilakazi before their 1-0 defeat at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

"Very disappointing to see head coach wearing headphones on the field before the game starts, and what I also noticed is that he went and gave them to Mfundo Vilakazi, who is a youngster, and the boy has not started a match in a while," Khune said on SABC's SoccerZone.

"The boy wants to be in his zone and focus on the match, he gives him the headphones and say, 'Listen to what I'm listening to' and yet we're playing a very important game.

"I'm very disappointed at that and I think the club must look into it and call him to order because as a leader, as a head coach, you can't be behaving like players behave," Bafana Bafana's former number one continued.

Nabi went on to get an unnecessary red card after the final whistle, where he allegedly hurled swearwords at referee Olani Kwinda for not adding more stoppage time.
