Former defender David Kannemeyer says Kaizer Chiefs will need more than just the reported signing of veteran midfielder Thulani Serero to bring back the glory days next season.
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder's contract at United Arab Emirates' Al Jazira Club expires at the end of June.

Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung is a huge fan of the 33-year-old, but Kannemeyer says Serero alone will not solve Chiefs' problems.
"Serero, when I came to Ajax Cape Town, he had just left, but in my opinion, he is a very good player," Kannemeyer tells KickOff.
"He's one player, how many quality players are they going to sign Chiefs?
"You can bring Thulani, but do you have other quality players in and around him?
"He is a quality player, but you can never do it alone. Never ever! The way I know him, he is a very good ball carrier, he can pass left and right, very clever.
"You need people in and around him who can do the dirty work and give the ball to him to do the business.
"The strikers that are there at the moment are not doing the business upfront, but then again what quality do you have on the wings?
"It's a whole lot of things that they need to look at. In my opinion, I think they will need to do another squad overhaul Chiefs.
"To me, it's pretty simple that in the last few seasons they've been firing coaches left, right and centre…but are they looking at what they have in their squad?
"People are earning big bucks there, but you don't see that when they are playing. The players should also take responsibility.
"I don't know who does the recruitment for them, or whether they are too slow or not, or it's the money.
"Serero he will definitely add something at Chiefs but who are you going to bring with him to connect the dots?
"You can't just bring one player and expect miracles you know. You must sign a group of three or four players that are going to connect the dots for him."
