A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has praised the club's decision to release Mozambican international Edmilson Dove.
Themba Seli believes that Dove's style of play did not align with the football that coach Nasreddine Nabi is trying to implement in the team.

Dove, along with Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, and Njabulo Blom, will not be part of Nabi's squad for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.
Dove's release has left the Amakhosi faithful divided on the matter. Struggling with injuries, the 30-year-old Dove managed to make only 13 appearances in all competitions for Chiefs last season.
"All four players that have been released so far were expected to leave; they didn't perform well last season for Kaizer Chiefs", Seli tells KickOff.
"It was clear that Dove was struggling to fit in at Chiefs. He is too cautious with the ball, and he tends to release it too quickly.

"Chiefs are trying to play from the back, and Dove seemed uncomfortable with that approach. He is prone to errors. Dove simply was not right for Kaizer Chiefs.
"The problem with Dove is that he lacked confidence on the ball, which led to costly mistakes."
