Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Edmore Chirambadare, who is currently on the books of Magesi FC, has explained why top players struggle after joining the Naturena-based outfit.
For the past eight seasons, the Glamour Boys have tried to strengthen their squads with the addition of talented players, but to many people's surprise, none of them have been able to help the club win silverware.

Like most of those players, Chirambadare came highly recommended when he signed for Chiefs from Chicken Inn in 2016, along with his Zimbabwean countryman Mitchelle Katsvairo. they were offered three-year deals.
In that season under Steve Komphela, Amakhosi also added Sibusiso Khumalo and Keagan Buchanan.
In recent times, even top signings like Given Msimango, Edmilson Dove, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sifiso Hlanti, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Keagan Dolly, amongst others, have failed to change the club's fortunes.
"In my case, when I arrived at Chiefs, everything was fine. Even the coach, Steve Komphela, we were alright with everything, even the way I was playing," Chirambadare tells KickOff.
"But in football, things change. If the technical team tells you they can't use you because of this and that, you just need to accept. You can't force them to use you.
"Komphela was part of the guys who brought me this side, but the following season, again they brought in new players.
"Maybe they wanted to see the new arrivals, so they believed it was best to release those who had been already there. I think that's what led to my departure.
"At Kaizer Chiefs, you always feel at home because that one there is a big brand. You only need to deliver for them to keep you. That's the pressure you always have.
"It's a big brand Kaizer Chiefs, everything that you do, you are in the spotlight... even your movement.

"Anything goes wrong, you are a goner. The problem is [that] the supporters there always want to win. Week in and week out, they want you to perform.
"And when it comes to support, they will come to support you, the Chiefs supporters. Even now, Chiefs are not doing well, but the supporters are always there to support them."
