Chiefs youngster reveals warning from Thabo Cele

A highly rated Kaizer Chiefs graduate has revealed a stern message from midfielder Thabo Cele following the Soweto giants' pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

Amakhosi land back on South African soil this week after a two-week pre-season camp in the Netherlands.

During the five friendly matches played, Nabi had the opportunity to see some of his latest recruits in action.

Chiefs also took along with them three graduates from the club's Reserves. Namely, Thulani Mabaso, Kabelo Ngwaka and Naledi Hlongwane.

The trio each got plenty of playing time during Chiefs' five matches, with Hlongwane even scoring the winning goal in the friendly against PEC Zwolle.

But ahead of the new season lies a bigger test for the trio, who are expected to be part of Amakhosi's squad in the new season, and midfielder Thabo Cele did not mince his words when he set out the standards to young Mabaso.

"I was talking to Thabo Cele, and he explained to me, 'The pre-season games are over. Now we need to win!',' Mabaso candidly told the club's media.

"The mentality must be different. We all want to win that game, because if we win, we make our people happy - the family, the fans... I feel we are ready. We want to bring back the glory days of Kaizer Chiefs."

Cele was signed by Amakhosi during the January transfer window and has elevated to a key figure in the squad, central to the Soweto giants' ambitions.

Amakhosi now shift focus to the Toyota Cup, where they face Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend.
