Kaizer Chiefs' struggles in finding a settled first choice have been pointed in the face of the high standards set by Itumeleng Khune during his time at the club.
Khune earned undisputed legendary status at Chiefs throughout the 20 years that he spent in the first team, before leaving upon the non-renewal of his contract at the end of last season.

With Khune gone and now in semi-retirement, the club has brought in Fiacre Ntwari to compete with Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma.
Ntwari was the preferred choice going into this season but was dropped after conceding 11 and keeping a single clean sheet in seven games.
Petersen took over and did no better, conceding five in three matches and failing to keep a clean sheet, which has since paved way for Bvuma, who has one clean sheet in five appearances.
"Let us be honest about the fact that Chiefs' goalkeeping department is still suffering the hangover of Khune's departure," points out retired keeper Aime Kitenge.
"What Khune did while at Chiefs is the reason why his name is constantly mentioned and then piles the pressure on the keepers that are there.
"That is why Chiefs fans keep saying 'if Khune was there' whenever there are issues with the keepers.
"I have noticed that Ntwari is too reserved and that is affecting him at Chiefs because his communication is seen as being soft.
"Ntwari doesn't talk despite being a good keeper and so it affects the rhythm of the rest of the team because when you are vocal as a keeper, it rubs off on the rest of the team.
"Khune's presence was felt because he was a brave commander and clear with his instructions.
"Then, with Bvuma, there are consistency questions, just like is the case with Petersen.

"Maybe it is because Chiefs is a team thin on consistency as has been proven by the results this season.
"The current keepers will always be living in the shadows of Khune no matter what the goalkeeper coach does," says Kitenge.
