Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has dismissed claims that an inexperienced midfield trio of Yusuf Maart, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Samkelo Zwane cost his side in a humbling 4-0 defeat to AmaZulu.
Amakhosi suffered a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Usuthu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Friday evening, courtesy of goals from former Chiefs duo Dumisani Zuma and Ramahlwe Mphahlelwe, alongside Sede Dion and Bongi Ntuli.

Asked if a lack of senior experience in the Chiefs midfield could have contributed to the loss, Zwane insisted that AmaZulu were not the better team on the day.
"As I said, you look at Mshini [Nkosingphile Ngcobo], he had a good game today, [Samkelo] Zwane as well. The players that you mentioned [George Maluleka, Makhehlene Makhaula, Pule Ekstein] from AmaZulu were not better than our players.
"Like I'm saying, we just made mistakes that were costly on the day. When we look at the midfield, I think Mshini played well, Zwane played well, Yusuf played well but we didn't take the chances that we created and we ended up conceding from dead-ball situations.
"If you look at the balls that AmaZulu players created, I don't think they were better than us."
With two consecutive losses, Amakhosi now have a mountain to climb as they prepare to take log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
