Golden Arrows respond to Pule Mmodi, Kaizer Chiefs rumours

Lamontville Golden Arrows management has responded to reports that they are currently involved in negotiations with Kaizer Chiefs for Pule Mmodi.

After their initial offer was turned down, Kaizer Chiefs are now believed to be closing in on their long-term target.

The Glamour Boys are believed to have tabled a second offer to Golden Arrows for the exciting midfielder.

Amakhosi tried to bring Mmodi on board at the beginning of the season, but a deal could not materialise as their initial offer was deemed to be not enough by the KwaZulu-Natal-based club.

Asked to confirm rumours that the two clubs are currently in talks for the player, Nonceba Madlala who is Abafana Bes'thende's manager could not confirm nor deny the rumours.

"I don't know anything about that," Nonceba tells KickOff.

"It's not something that I'm aware of, you need to ask the chairperson, she is currently out of the country you can call next week Tuesday and ask her."

In his 13 appearances for Arrows this season, the 29-year-old has scored four times and made a single assist.

If he does fulfil his childhood dream of playing for Chiefs, in January Mmodi can find himself competing with the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo for a position.
