Mama Joy gets FIFA World Cup invite

Former Orlando Pirates super-fan Mama Joy Chauke has been invited to the 2022 Qatar World Cup draw. Check it out!  

What Happened?

The South African National Supporters (SANASU) Secretary-General will attend the prestigious draw where the teams who qualified will find out their fate.   

Mama Joy exclusively has been given the opportunity due to her passion for football, loyalty to Bafana Bafana and her ability to engage worldwide football fans.

This trip will see her leave the country on 28 March and return on 3 April and she is expected to have some impressive company alongside her as the SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan, his deputy Dr Irvin Khoza and CEO Adv Tebogo Motlanthe will also travel to Doha for the FIFA Congress. 

Mama Joy, who recently made the headlines for joining DStv Premiership newcomers Royal AM has opened up about her joy.  

"This is massive because I will not only be representing my organisation SANASU but will be doing this for my Association (SAFA), South Africa and COSAFA,'' she said. 

"I will be among a few global faces of soccer fans at the draw. Provisionally, they have promised that a few more fans from South Africa that including SANASU President, Saddam Maake will make the trip during the World Cup tournament and we intend to leave a lasting impression there.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank SAFA, especially President Danny Jordaan for embracing us supporters as critical stakeholders of the game.'' 

Did you know? 

Mama Joy has also been vocal about the return of fans to the stadium as she has placed her efforts on representing the fans who dearly miss cheering for their sides live at the games.
