Promising South African winger Gift Links has no ambition of following the trends of young modern footballers with flashy cars but is rather investing in property.
Links, 21, is currently on the books of Danish SuperLiga outfit AGF Aarhus, where he's continuing his rapid development since making his Absa Premiership debut as a 17-year-old with the now-defunct Platinum Stars.
While his mindset is clearly unique, so too is his journey to Europe, having left Diwkena for Al Assiouty Sport in Egypt during the 2017/18 season, shortly after earning a call-up to the senior Bafana Bafana training camp with Stuart Baxter.
However, he returned to South Africa in a 'club-record' transfer with Cape Town City, when the club was taken over by Turki El-Sheikh and rebranded as Pyramids FC.
But it wasn't long before the technically gifted left-winger was off again when the five-time Danish League champions lured him from The Citizens - where he's now aiming to establish his journey to the elite level of European football.

Supreme talent - Different mindset
At the age of 21, away from family, the temptation for young footballers to spend money lavishly has been the downfall for many promising careers, however, his agent Paul Mitchell of the Siyavuma Sports Group admits Links is unlike the rest.
In an online press conference with the South African Football Journalists' Association, Mitchell confirmed that the South African youth international bought his parents a house in Rustenberg while aiming to climb the 'property ladder'.
"He's got them [parents] into something bigger and better than they already had, so he's really proud about that and he's got a few ideas from a business perspective," Mitchell explained.
"He's also just done a foundation recently over Covid-19 and just donated quite a lot of money about that, something which I know he's really passionate about and he's done a feeding scheme in Rustenberg for so many families."
I'm not into cars - Investment priorities
Links paid homage to his representatives when opening up about his journey and confirmed that he's already in the process of acquiring property in Cape Town that he's likely to rent as he aims for multiple incomes streams during his career.
"I bought my parents a house in February last year, so I'm happy and now I'm looking forward to buying an apartment – as many as possible – because I had a chat with Mr Paul and he advised me to buy one in Cape Town," Links revealed.
"Maybe this year I might get one or a few. We'll see what happens. I'm lucky because I met Mr Paul and Keagan [Wasserfall]. They always give me advice on what to do and what not to do.
"I'm one person who doesn't like cars. People they normally ask me, 'Gift what car do you drive?' I tell them I'm not into cars and I'm concentrating on buying properties, because it will pay money.
"I might buy a car today and maybe the car gets smashed. But if I take that money and buy a property, then at least I will be getting something in return as well."
