Chippa United’s Stanley Nwabali should not be held responsible for any of the goals conceded against Orlando Pirates, according to a former goalkeeper who represented several clubs in the PSL.
Chippa found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday as Bucs ran rampant with goals from Patrick Maswanganyi, Deon Hotto, and Tshepang Moremi.

Nwabali, who was stretchered off due to an injury during the midweek loss to Richards Bay FC, managed to recover in time to face the Soweto giants. Unfortunately, it proved a challenging game for him, with one costly mistake after the other from the defensive line.
"It's not just about the goalkeeper. It's the coach who has introduced a new philosophy to the team," Tshepo Motsoeneng points out.
"The coach said, 'Once the ball is in midfield, I want you to press high, so whenever situations arise, you will be able to get to the ball first, like Ronwen Williams often does.'
"I think Stanley miscalculated the distance. It was a bit far, and he should have been more accurate with his passing. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with Nwabali."

The Nigerian international has kept only one clean sheet so far this season, conceding nine goals in five Betway Premiership matches.
The Chilli Boys, who now occupy 16th spot on the log, will be back in action on 16 September when they tackle equally trouble Orbit College FC, who have won one and lost four games to find themselves second from bottom.
